Graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts – School of Architecture – Dept. of Industrial Design in1994 Established own company - Mads Miltersen Design - in 1997 Carries out projects within industrial design, idea generation, furniture design, interior design and architecture, always with the angle of approach: “To create something better.”

Whenever Jydepejsen develops and designs new products and techniques, the work is always carried out in close collaboration with dealers and other professionals. In order to ensure exactly the right end result – as regards design and functionality – Jydepejsen has worked with Mads Miltersen Design MDD for many years. Mads has a great deal of experience from the industry and his crucial role in the working relationship is his remarkable ability to construct well thought-out products where the visual and functional aspects are combined to form a cohesive unit. Mads Miltersen has spent hours and hours studying and examining all kinds of stoves with a view to optimising the various functions and details. As a result of this approach, over the years, Jydepejsen stoves have come to feature details such as cold handles, concealed hinges, remote control and – most recently – the DuplicAir air system. The design process has led to simplification of the product so that today, the stoves are stylish and elegant – just like any other piece of furniture in the home.

“My goal is in a simple manner to unite the form and function of the stove so that, to a greater extent, it appears as an attractive yet simple piece of furniture that suits modern living environments – rather than just a heat-making machine. Design is not only about appearance, it also has to do with improving and simplifying. The everyday user, the chimney sweep, the sales representative and the fitter should all enjoy working with the product.”
